|
|
The Run Application (ALT-F2) window freezes for a couple of seconds accessing the hard drive as soon I type the first letter of the command (any) I try to run. Seems like it's trying to access some index of commands to auto-complete. It's very annoying and I land up using the drop-down menu most of the times.
Is this normal? or is there a solution for this?
I am using Gnome 2.6.
Thanks in advance for your responses! |

Same experience here. Athlon XP 2500+, 768MB of RAM. Identical performance whether lots of memory is available or not.
There is a thread regarding this with GNOME 2.4, so this isn't a new issue. URL below.

It sounds like somebody just needs to clean up that bit of code in GNOME. Hopefully 2.8 will show some improvements. _________________ Help save the world. Adopt an unanswered post.
