Hallo,

verwendet Gentoo mit Fluxbox 8) . Wenn ich nun in der xorg.conf den nvidia-Treiber aktiviere bekomme ich immer die Fehlermeldung:

(EE) NVIDIA(0): Failed to initialize the NVIDIA graphics device!

Ich habe schon den Treiber neu kompiliert. Bios-Einstellungen zu den Interrupts gibt es bei meinem Notebook (Dell Inspiron 8200) keine. Was mache ich falsch :?: :?: :?:

Dort hats eine gute anleitung zu nVidia Grafikkarten, check die mal durch, vielleicht hast du ja was vergessen.

ps: Dein Titel ist nicht ganz korrekt, bei mir funktioniert er naehmlich - liegt also nicht am Treiber.

Wenn du den "nvidia" Trieber verwenden möchtest, muß "Load "dri"" auskommentiert werden.

vorerst Danke, dass mir überhaupt jemand hilft.

Ich suche jetzt schon einen 1Woche in den Forum und im Internet herum. Ich habe auch schon sehr viel ausprobiert, leider ohne Erfolg.

das Problem hat sich durch den Kernel 2.6.8.1 behoben. Kernel und Nvidia neu kompiliert und es hat funktoniert.

Jau.

DRI Modul auskommentieren und beim Kernelbau darauf achten, dass die Stacksize auf 8k steht (bzw. die Option 4k nicht abhaken)!
