gentoo server on sparc5?

While we are re-organizing our LUG we were offered a sparc5 170Mhz to built our server on. Now, a box given away like that is a Good Thing (TM) but I've seen some mentions to compatibility problems and bugs for linux on the specific model.
So here come the questions:
What should I expect to work and what not?
Which distro (if any) manages to work around these problems and to what extent?
What are the things we should watch out for?

Note that the server will hold a web site with php and 2 mailing lists - all expected to be low-to-medium traffic.

Last I heard, Linux had some problems with the 170mhz Ross HyperSPARC processors. One work around was to use a different processor for the install and switch after Linux is installed.
