Im very new to installing gentoo..
I am following the handbook exactly.
when i type: fdisk /dev/hdc
as soon as fdisk runs it says somethign like "you will not be able to write the partition table"
i cant get what it exactly says because i have 2 hDD's and the first one is windows.. second is linux.
i previously had slackware 9.1 installed but i wanted to use the full potential of the AMD64
does anyone have any ideas!

A few days ago, I had the same problem. The problem is, that IDE harddisks are not recognized by default by the 64 live CD. You have to load the kernel module manually:
Hope this helps _________________ Lebe dein Leben so, dass du dich nicht darüber aufregen musst, wenn es plötzlich vorbei ist. |
