Ciao a tutti, ho un problemino con il suono e non so veramente più dove guardare... Il kernel è una gentoo-dev-sources-2.6.8-r3 con ALSA compilato nel kernel (non modulo), le alsa-lib, alsa-tools etc. sono tutti aggiornati alla versione 1.0.6, nel make.conf ho messo ALSA_CARDS="emu10k1" siccome ho una Creative SB Audigy. Alsasound viene caricato al boot e non da errori, nel mixer ho messo TUTTO al massimo e ho tolto tutti i MUTE etc., ma ancora non sento niente nè da XMMS, ne da XINE, ne da MPlayer. La cosa stranissima è che ieri sera stavo guardando un DVD e tutto andava, stamattina mi sveglio, accendo e *puff* suono sparito... Altre idee di come riattivare il suono? La parte hardware NON è danneggiata, siccome ho provato con Windows (macchina dual-boot) e là funziona perfettamente.

No, alsa-driver serve solo per i kernel 2.4.X, i 2.6.X ce l'hanno già nel kernel.

Io uso praticamente solo kernel monolitici... mai avuto problemi con ALSA.
In questo caso gli alsa-driver non servono...

fat_penguin: si appunto qua alsa-drivers non serve, sono già nel Kernel 2.6.8.

Ho già controllato, quelli non servono xké ALSA ha già il suo driver EMU10K1 nel Kernel (lo vedi nel mio lsmod).
Ho inoltre notato che il suono FUNZIONA sulla normale line out, ma siccome io ho attaccato un amplificatore Dolby Digital il suono deve uscire dalla SPDIF, chiamata "Audigy Digital/Analgo Output Jack". Ma quello è attivo, ma ugualmente: NIENTE SUONO! Misteriosa la cosa... Nemmeno come root.

BEELLOO!!! Dio se odio ALSA! Ora funziona se metto come device di output, in XMMS, Xine, etc, dove vi pare, "SPDIF". Ma chissà perché di colpo vuole avere quello... Solo che è un pò uno schifo dovere sempre cambiare i settings di ogni prog su SPDIF, inoltre i suoni "che sono in giro" tipo Mozilla, il Line-In, ancora non gli sento: come faccio a dire al mio sistema Linux "manda tutti i suoni, in genrale e sempre, alla device ALSA chiamata SPFID???" qualcuno me lo sa dire?
