kde 3.1 final today?

Today is the day that kde 3.1 RC3 possibly became kde 3.1 final.
Any word on this?
If it did become final and tagged in cvs it's possible to make an ebuild of it today already and have us gentoo users installing it.

It doesn't seem to be updated as officially released on http://www.kde.org/info/3.1.html yet. I would think that it would have to at least be released there first.

they normally shove the sources out to packagers a few days before the inital release, but I'm not sure if that applies to gentoo devs...

Aye, then the place to look would be on http://www.gentoo.org/index.xml, but I doubt that they would annouce it there before KDE announced it. That sounds like bad politics to me.

yeah not sure. All I remember is that today is the day the decision is made. If it is, then it will be tagged in cvs.
Then they send the source out, then they only announce it like a week from now.
But gentoo could grab it from cvs or download.kde.org ourselves and have it today:)

A RC4 will be released very soon and if no problems occur, it will be the final version.
