|
|
Hello.
I'm having trouble with my connection script for pppd and chat I'm using with my serial modem. I didn't install a GUI at all, BTW, that's why I'm doing it with those two utilities.
No matter what I use (the script looks fine), the modem's TR (terminal ready) light goes off, and goes on. That's it. No SD (send data) nor RD (recieve data) lights. It doesn't matter what I told it to do; reset, dial, or change options in memory, nothing happens. I'm sure this modem likes the 38400 terminal speed and lack of parity I'm using (I've used it on another OS before).
So, in my attempt to debug this, I'm asking: anyone know of a serial line watcher, or better yet, a direct interface to the line like cu on UNIX?
Thanks in advance. |

To debug serial lines in the past, I have used ttypatch, which is available on sourceforge.net
I was however, only using it to debug messages sent accross the wire, not actual signal levels. _________________ Jonathan S. Romero

Just try net-dialup/minicom I guess.
That's what I used back in those days. |
