While in Windows the picture was almost perfect, in Linux, using tvtime, the picture is not even half good it was in windows. It looks like a badly recorded video casette. Basically the picture is not smooth, but has kinda visible horizontal lines every millimiter. The system here is PAL, i tried different types of deinterlace methods and framerate but it doesn't help. The picture improves when I switch to B/W. _________________ There is, a not-born, a not-become, a not-made, a not-compounded. I'm having the same issue using tvtime and the Leadtek Winfast TV2000 Deluxe, so do not worry you are not alone. The only difference is that I'm on NTSC. If I find the solution I will let you know. |

Thanx.. it's gotta be something with either tvtime or the bttv driver. I'll try another tv app. I found out, in FreeBSD the picture is almost as good as in windows. _________________ There is, a not-born, a not-become, a not-made, a not-compounded. The problem with this is that if you just compile the driver directly into the kernel, it will set the card up incorrectly. This is with kernel-2.6.10-r6
This is what I had to do. First I made sure that these items were compiled into the kernel.
Code: |
Character Devices → I2C support → I2C support
Character Devices → I2C support → I2C bit-banging interfaces |
Then I added the following to /etc/modules.autoload.d/kernel-2.6
Code: | bttv card=34 tuner=2 |
To check which card which tuner you need to use for this driver look in
Code: | /usr/src/linux/Documentation/video4linux/CARDLIST.bttv
/usr/src/linux/Documentation/video4linux/CARDLIST.tuner |
