I want to be able to upload files to my webserver using a FTP server.

what i need:
2 users to be able to upload delete stuff in the webserver folder.

which ftpserver should be good for me?.. i heared about glftpd but that one seems too complicated since it has a million of features i wont use.

I use vsftp on my network fileserver. It's not the most secure solution; but it's easy to work with OTB, just useradd two users which you plan on using, emerge vsftp, and edit the config (/etc/vsftpd/vsftpd.conf). For sharing purposes you can create a group called 'trustedusers', add the two users to that group, and create a the 'webserver' folder with read / write to the trustedusers group.

Good luck :-)

vsftpd should be fine.

Just be sure to keep anonymous access disabled, of course

servo888, why you think it's not a secure server ? I know of only one vulnerability so far: http://www.securityfocus.com/bid/10394
it's a DoS and was fixed on version 1.2.2

vsftpd is very secure, not that this is any measurement but kernel.org uses it :). I use ncftpd, basically because I'm lazy to figure out the config I want for vsftpd. It may cost money but miracles have happened :) (pm for more info) it's very easy to setup and it has great docs.

I like pure-ftp. It was really easy and it's pretty secure.

One for proftpd, VERY flexible. But for your purposes vsftpd is probably the best.
