Let's promote our Gentoo as the answer to your question.
Security starts with a secure base to work from.
First the OS, we here advise Gentoo Linux but basically any Linux is more stable and secure than Windows. Gentoo is easy to install and within a few days and some help on this forum you will get a fast,effective,secure server up and running with big potential.
Second a secure http server. IIS can be turned into a warez-FTP server within 30min by a hacker (yes i've seen some guy at my university do it to a friend of mine his server (only thing that could stop him was SP4 or something)). So my advice would be Apache or Apache2. |
