Not sure if this goes here or in "Gamers & Players" ...
Anyways here is the situation:
The gamepad (a Saitek P2000) gets deteced as a HID, /dev/js0 exists, but when I do cat /dev/js0 it displays garbage shortly and then stops - nomatter wich buttons I press. ( Odly the output seems to always be the same, but is different for root and me )
Odd thing is on my other box it used to work when it ran RH9.0, but after a horrible crash I upgraded to FC2 it displays the same symptoms as my gentoo box, so the problem seems to be with Kernel 2.6 ( or more likely some of its modules ) ( It still works in windows )
I've scoured the forums looking for an answer, and tired just about everything I found, all to no awail..
Relevant system info:
Kernel 2.6.8-gentoo-r2
Nforce2 (Asus A7N8x deluce)
Here is all the extra info/logs/etc I could think of...

Edit: Come to think of it the ownership of /dev/input/js0 looks a little fishy ... |
