alright well, i wasn't getting any sound when i played any music in xmms so i realized it's because i didn't add the support for my sound card when i compiled the kernel, so i went back through, and compiled it with the support for my sound card but now when i start it up (i use LILO as my bootloader) it gives me
Code: | uncompressing linux........................................................................
invalid compression format (err=1)
-- System halted |
any suggestions? |

make sure all your hardware is working properly. A lot of times, a heatsink is jolted or something.
Try copying over your bzImage to /boot again. LiveCD, mount, cp.
If that doesn't work, try recompiling your kernel again. _________________ word. |
