Hey all,
Just got a shiny new AMD Athlon 64 3400 and Asus K8V SE Deluxe motherboard and set it up. I have 2 sticks of D333 REG ECC 2700 DDR Ram using Samsung K4H560838E-TCB3 chips. When I put both sticks in, the system doesnt post. However, when I use only one stick of ram, it comes up and runs fine.
Now, I installed the latest bios update and tried it again and still no go.
Is there a reason for this? Either stick by its self works fine, just not both at the same time.
Thanks!!!
Joe

One possible cause might be that the DIMMs are dual-sided but the mainboard does not in fact support this.
So one DIMM would use both slots, the second DIMM would not fit anymore.
How big are these DIMMs ? _________________ >>> emerge (3 of 7) mcse/70-293 to /

How many RAM slots does that mobo have? It might be possible that using slots 1 + 3 works where slots 1 + 2 don't work. |

Hmm.. Never thought about that... They are dual sided RAM. 512 megs each.
Let me try to put one in slot 1 and slot 3 ( There are only 3 slots in the board)
Thanks for the tips!!
