ipw2200: connection is unstable [solved]

Hi all !

Since I updated world on 21st August, I can't get anymore a reliable wireless connection with my ipw2200 card. No matter if I use or NOT wpa_supplicant, and if it's a WPA or not connection. I tryed to find an answer to my problem, but could not find anything revelant in any posts...

The problem is that the eth1 interface is correctly configured by the init.d script : eth1 is up, get an dhcp adress, I can even do scp, but no rsync (too unstable). But the interface get down every few seconds and up and down and up ... Very annoying, indeed.
The driver version is 1.1.3 and firmware packages are 2.2, 2.3, 2.4 and 3.0 and baselayout 1.12.4-r7. My kernel is suspend2-sources-2.6.16-r8.

Did I miss something ? Any help will be appreciated. Thanks !

I've heard from several people that they have troubles with the new baselayout. You may try an older one.

I dislike merging--unmerging such packages like baselayout. But I've followed your suggestion and it works again.
