ho dato l'emerge dell'ultima versione di nvidia-kernel poichè mi dava l'aggiornamento in portage.
purtroppo però ora non riesci più a caricare i driver nvidia!
avete idea del perchè ? ho anche provato a rimuovere e reinstallare!
il kernel è il 2.6.8-gentoo-r4
i driver nvidia sono media-video/nvidia-kernel-1.0.6111-r2 (l' r1 funzionava)
modprobe nvidia restituisce

2.6.8-gentoo-r4 mi ha fatto impazzire con nvidia e opengl... io fossi in te tornerei alla .7-r14, oppure aggiornare la .8 visto che mi sembra sia appena uscito in portage qualcosa di piu' recente. Personalmente non avendo esigenze particolari creda aspttero' la 2.6.9-gentoo prima di eliminare la .7

il fatto è che fino alla r1 dei driver andava bene...
vorrà di che proverò ad aggiornare il kernel |

Prova ad utilizzare la versione di nvidia-kernel in ~x86.

stesso problema con il 2.6.9-gentoo-r1, sia con gli nvidia-kernel 5336 che con gli NVIDIA-Linux-x86-1.0-6111 scaricati dal sito nvidia.
l'unica soluzione è fare un downgrade del kernel ?

no. io ho avuto il tuo identico problema. In questo caso la soluzione sta nell'editare i sorgenti del kernel e ricompilare, c'è da aggiungere una linea di codice. Se cerchi sul forum la soluzione si trova (in inglese, ma si trova...). prova a mettere nella ricerca l'errore che ti da.
