ATI RADEON 9600 Mobility + external monitor

Hi, just installed gentoo by following the handbook, so I'm pretty new. I have installed it on my laptop and my problem is that my external monitor won't behave properly :) I can get it turned on by using the [Fn] + F4 button on my laptop, but the resolution and refreshrate is way of.

I have seen this question asked a couple of times, but I haven't been able to find a thread with an answer to this. So please, any suggestions would be nice.
