Hi,
I'm trying to switch to from xfree to xorg, but it doesn't really work. I emerged xorg multiple times, tried -O3 and -O1, x86 and ~x86, but no matter how I tweak my CFLAGS, it'll always segfault when I change to another virtual console (strg+alt+fn).
I didn't have that problem with xfree, no matter how crazy my CFLAGS were set.

Any ideas?

BTW: I'm using ~x86 nvidia drivers

This seems to be a problem with the nvidia tv-out.

1st thing to try is pluggin' out your TV and see if it works (after reboot?!)

When it works ok, then u know it's the TV. Now when you need your TV, you could switch to fb-tng (included in actual Gentoo-dev-sources) and set the default resolution to a resolution that your TV supports, in most cases 800x600-32. I hope this will help you, btw. this problem is common, doing a search shouldn't be a problem. =)

I meanwhile found the problem; it was a problem with the aiptek driver, i made a new gentoo install and it worked flawlessly; today i tried the aiptek-driver for my drawing tablet and it started to crash again ;(
