emerge syncI have a brande new ADSL connection, it works but when I try to do
emerge sync
receiving file list ...
100000 files to consider
>>> retry ...
it always stops at 100,000 whatever server I connect.
What can I do, without sync Gentoo isn't worth anything

Hmmm strange.....
Use "emerge-webrsync -v" to have @ least a almost actual portage tree.
Does "emerge -v sync" give you more info? Is there any error message displayed or does it just stop? |

I've tried
emerge-webrsync, it blocks on "Syncing local tree"
emerge-webrsync -v, it downloads a file then blocks on "Syncing local tree..."
emerge -v sync, blocks at 100,000
as emerge sync
here all the messages I get :
receiving file list ...
100002 files to consider
>>> retry ...
>>> Starting retry 1 of 3 with rsync://134.68.220.73/gentoo-portage
