Maybe I am stupid, but I still don't see who needs to connect to ftp in active mode?
btw: If you can't connect to a ftp in active mode, then it is probably the other ftp server not allowing active connections! Or your firewall is NAT'ed and passes your internal IP to the ftp server and the server has trouble with it.
Normaly you connect to TCP port 21 and 20 if you do an active connection. If you don't allow that, then please change your firewall rules.
cheers

for my linux box active ftp isn't necessary...
but some update clients on a winxp box also connected to this router apparently do not support passive ftp....
I totally forgot about port 20.. thanks for the reminder ! _________________ It's all about open source |
