Yes it's supposed to do so (or at least I think so), but I don't have it either.

It checks my Gmail account, just like it should ;)

ya just if i select it by accident it delays me a few seconds, meh

Yeah, that sucks. Better to try not selecting it ;)

I have a request for a script.

I saw this on a desktop in the screenshots thread and thought it could be a handy pipe menu.

http://www.kde-look.org/content/show.php?content=9453

I'm referring to the tnetstat part that shows outgoing connections and the applications that are connecting. I'm sure one of you guys can figure it out and I can reap the benefits, haha.

To those of you who are using my Configuration menu or my Theme menu

Configuration Menu 2.0
Theme Menu 2.0

Both of them now search for the proper tags and insert the new data there instead of on pre-defined lines. Enjoy. :wink:

Don't know about the config script but there are some path problems with the theme script. look at the output of 'tmenu-2.0.py -m' at the part where it sets the theme (where it uses the -s flag).

It worked fine for me, even from the Apache directory. What errors are you getting?

As for the configuration menu, please re-download 2.0 because I noticed that I b0rked the followMouse option by having it search for "folowMouse". Oops....

Actually, it creates it!

Code:

-rw-r--r--   1 oktane users     261 Oct 12 14:13 gmail.cache

But there's still 2 seconds lag...

For me, the cfgmenu changes the RC, but I have to Reconfigure manually. I can see that this is built into the script, so what is wrong?

It reconfigures before it finishes writing the changes to the file.

Well, I could try adding another reconfigure line or you could if you can understand the coding. Unfortunately, I know of no way to call reconfigure within Openbox other than that way but if I did then I could make it wait a second or so before updating the config.

I tried adding more reconfigure lines, and adding a
Code:
time.sleep(1)
at various places but to no avail...

If you guys are having problems writing to /tmp try changing the gmail.cache path to ~/.gmail.cache or something.. it'd actually be a better idea from a security perspective.

ok I have it fixed by puting in about 50 reconfigures, but there must be a better way than this. I'm looking at the C to make a program that simply executes
Code:
ob_reconfigure();
and perhaps you can then include that (or i might add a
Code:
--reconfigure
option to the openbox command.)

Updated both of pwnz3r's scripts. Looking for more scripts from people! :D

I looked into the options, trust me. However, we are negotiating with Openbox via its menu so we have to play by the rules which means we will need to add the --reconfigure flag.

Well, I had a look at openbox.c, but as usual my cut-n-paste coding resulted in segfaults. I'll keep trying.

OK - I just saw this thread and noticed you've created the website - great idea by the way.

Thanks for including my wallpaper script without me asking, but just one problem - on your page the link for my script goes to scripts/blah - nothing there!

edit - you could also put in a link to a preview image I just created here

WooHoo! I fixed it!
ok, so take out all the Reconfigure actions, and add this line
Code:
os.system("killall -SIGUSR2 openbox")

after
Code:
newRC = file(rcfile, "w")
newRC.writelines(buffer)
newRC.close()

in
Code:
def chLine():

It's a different way to reconfigure openbox, and because python executes chronologically, it waits til it has closed the file to send the USR2 signal.

It had pointed to that because at the time i set up the site your script was unavailable on your website. I'll grab it again and put it up there.

Thanks a lot for the tip suk_ma_penguin. Here is the new version and one for tmenu.py will soon follow.

Denstark is already doing that, but if you wanted to affiliate with me then that would work.
