I recently purchased a highpoint 454, (hpt374), gentoo liveCD sees the individual drives as /dev/hdi, hdj, hdh, hdl and so on. what is the label of the raid array? i have tried /dev/ataraid/disc0, /dev/md0, and others. Any links to a gentoo hardware RAID howto? any help would be appreciated, thanks. |

Did you create your raid array by using your bios raid tool? |

yes, i created the array in the hpt374, version 3.x bios, it's a raid 5 array, i am not sure if gentoo even sees the array, i have tried fdisking /dev/sda, and numerous other devs to no avail, i am not sure how or if i shoud do a software raid, or go with a hardware raid anymore. |
