Hi, I'm trying to configure samba to share a ntfs drive but it won't work. Probably because of the password related problem text/encrypted.
I'm configuring samba using webmin, but I also have root access using the command line. Can anybody explain to me how I configure samba the right way using smb.conf? Or maybe via webmin?
I'm trying to share /mnt/E which is mounted on /dev/hdc7 (ntfs)
I'm trying to connect to it from a windows ME workstation using internet explorer. (but it won't work *hits it with stick*)
If anybody has an EXTENDED online webmin/samba tutorial than that is more than welcome !! (google wasn't my best friend today helping me search online..) |

Hi,
have you looked at the Gentoo Samba Howto?
http://www.gentoo.org/doc/en/quick-samba-howto.xml
I had one another problem while mounting my NTFS parition in fstab, i had to add umask=000 after ntfs file type, so that everyone had permission to access it.
hope this helps.
