Anyone else up for making a page for fluxbox and openbox themes made by the gentoo community? And I know openbox has all those cool scripts we could throw those on there as well for one central place for *box related downloads

A website would work well. A single thread for all *box themes would likely be unmanageable. _________________ Quis separabit? Quo animo? |

My thoughts exactly, if enough people are interested in the idea I was just going to use this thread so users could post links to there styles, scripts etc.. so they could be uploaded to the site.
Edit: For those interested in the idea post what else you would like to see...tip & tricks, fonts etc. |

No-IP.com - "Your Dynamic DNS Leader"
The IP Updater script is in portage,
Code: | emerge noip-updater |

I prefer zoneedit.com, the updating is done via lynx
But I don't think the dns service itself is RedDawn's problem, but perhaps the 'black hole' between updates (?). _________________ O make me a mask! |

I would host it, but my site is mainly for my stuff and I do not have a separate server. If I had a server that was not running from my desktop, then I would more than likely host it. |

I'd put it up on dev.gentoo.org/~pjp, at least until a permanent home was found. I have another site, just haven't come up with a domain name yet _________________ Quis separabit? Quo animo? |

Before all of you even start to consider it, let me make it clear that my fluxbox style is as far from eyecandy land as you can get. It will admit no defeat in the category of cut-down, simple, bitter, blackish styles. And I made a gtk theme that goes with it.
OK, now seriously... they are just shades of black with no gtk-engines or pixmaps whatsoever, but I really like it and I think you should like it too.
ftp://noctis.com.ar/perseguidor.tgz
Edit: You can use my ftp/http if you want, but I have 128kbit u/l and a dynamic ip so I guess it could only be good for the time being _________________ O make me a mask! |

Yes that is my problem. The time the ip takes to propigate to the net. But is not often though my ip changes every month or so. is not a everyday/week thing.
i already host 5 otherwebsites on my server i have 3 dns servers.
is the black hole in between like someone said that kill my server.
This is what i can..
Php
Asp
Mysql
Webmail
Ftp
Subdomain under (yourowndisaster.net)
Unlimited webspace
Unlimited bandwith
All you guys have to do is pick somone to update the website or do something like that. The website can be managed through Plesk (kinda like Cpanel)
Not Shell Access.
So if you want me to setup the whole thing get together picksomeone, that someone email me at: webmaster@yourowndisaster.net with the subdomain/domain name and i will email you back with the Usernames/Password for the server.
EDIT:
SuSE 9.0 (Plesk wont work on Gentoo )
Celeron 633Mhz
Ram 768Mb
Server Drive = 40GB <--- Os, Webfiles
Server Drive = 80GB <---- Samba, Nfs, Etc
Server Drive = 9GB <---- Weekly backup storage
DSL:
3008Kbs Down
416Kbs Up
You can test the speed at.

I have some webspace, so i would be able to host the site, but not the dl-files. _________________ e17 documentation | Be free and use Jabber as your IM! | Combine IRC and IM |

Maybe i can make a design. But what do you think about using a CMS like e107? I think is enough for the beginning, and nobody has to code one by himself. _________________ e17 documentation | Be free and use Jabber as your IM! | Combine IRC and IM |

I know this site, it was just a example. What CMS would you recommend? _________________ e17 documentation | Be free and use Jabber as your IM! | Combine IRC and IM |

Most of the Wiki type CMS's at the bottom of that page are pretty good, you should take a look at those. _________________ Blog

Well, for whoever sets it up and gets it going, here's a couple theme submissions to get started with:
abs winter light -- yet another Winter port
abs milk -- yet another Milk port
(coming soon, yet another Opus OS port ... notice a bad trend here?) |

I'll submit my Openbox theme aswell:

Theme
I also have a Fluxbox theme knocking about somewhere, I'll see if I can find it and clean it up. I'm afraid I can't be of much help on the web design / hosting front though, at least not at the moment. _________________ - I

Making a central site for *box-themes is a great idea. When I switched to openbox i was really missing that (even themes.freshmeat has only 4! ob-themes ).
Oh and I would be glad if you add my themes. Don't know if anyone would like them, I just started creating ob-themes.

Well, there is openbox-themes in portage but a central place would be nice. We could make a box-look.org or something. |
