I emerged slmoded so I could use dial-up to connect to internet. But now, everytime I run env-update I get the following output:
Code: | env-update
>>> Regenerating /etc/ld.so.cache...
* Caching service dependencies
* Can't find service 'alsasound' needed by 'slmodem'; continuing... |
Obviously I'm missing some dependencies. So what package do I need to emerge to fix the problem? _________________ "Ignorantia non est Argumentum" - Benedict de Spinoza |

alsasound is the daemon used for sound. Do you happen to not have sound on your machine? Also in the documentation section of Gentoo.org look for the documentation for desktops, where they have a tutorial on how to set alsa. |
