Hey all..
Sorry if this is a repost. I searched and found some related posts, but nothing that really helped me.
I've been having CD burning issues ever since I reinstalled gentoo (going from 2.6.x kernel on x86 to 2.6.x kernel on AMD64.
I did a dmesg to try to solve it and came up with this:
Code: |
ide-scsi is deprecated for cd burning! Use ide-cd and give dev=/dev/hdX as device |
Ok.. So apparently ide-scsi is no longer the appropriate way to go about CD burning...
So I went in and changed the configs in my kernel. Disabled scsi emulation, and scsi support (casue CDR scsi emulation was the only thing Iw as using scsi for)
now... How do I properly set up ide-cd?
My old kernel command line looked like this:
Code: | root=/dev/hdb2 hdc=ide-scsi console=tty0 |
Should I just change hdc=ide-scsi to hdc=ide-cd ?
Or what do I need to do?
Thanks,
