This might be awkward to code - but could it exclude items that have been sent to the dustbin? Also - encourage posters who are not expecting a solution to somehow mark there subject [INFO] and the already establsihed [SOLVED] so these can be excluded from the search.
This allows me to get much deeper into helping answer the unanswered posts I can deal with.
It may also be useful to have a language (show posts only in my language), but I have once or twice helped out spanish or german posters - I understand little of the language, but enough to help out and use babelfish. Anyway - big up the unanswered posts initiative. _________________ Danny Staple, curator of http://orionrobots.co.uk

Your ideas sound good to me. Continuing, I think it would be nice to exclude specific parts of the forums. Or maybe just display different unanswered forum posts. Like being able to selectively exclude say Off the Wall, Gentoo Chat, etc. But still leaving the option to include unanswered posts from those areas of the forums. _________________ Nothing can stop me now, cuz I just don't care. |

All these concerns have been raised before, but they all depend on modifications in the phpBB's main release to get their way into our Forums.
You can have a look around GFF for many threads about these requests. _________________ "I'm just very selective about the reality I choose to accept." -- Calvin |

How about putting a tick box in the advanced search query page - posts with no replies. Then you can use boolean terms with the unanswered posts and see ones that you can answer.
I understand it may not be easy to implement - but may be less work than the other requests here... _________________ Danny Staple, curator of http://orionrobots.co.uk

As pilla mentioned, the search modification has been requeseted several times in the past. Also, phpbb is responsible for adding new features to their software. _________________ Quis separabit? Quo animo? |
