Hello,
I have been having problems printing to pdf. The fonts come out all bunched up together. If I print to ps I almost never have problems.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks,

What are you using to print to pdf?
If you print to ps then use ps2pdf to convert do you have the same problem? |

PowerFactor,
Great!!
I just tried converting a ps file to pdf and it worked fine.
Do you know how to set this to work on the fly? Should I print to ps and pipe to pdf??
I'm also not sure what files to edit to do this.
Thanks,

Well, I'm still not sure how you were trying to print to pdf. Most applications don't have any built in print to pdf capability.
Kde's print dialog (kprinter) has a print to pdf feature that works fine for me. It can be used with non-kde apps as well. Gnome probably has something similar. You can also use cups-pdf to set up a pdf printer in cups. |

I am using cups with kde. I am using kprint's "print to pdf" or "print to ps" option. I emerged cups-pdf with worse results than I already have. Maybe I'm missing something on configuring it. |

Yea, if your gettgin different results from ps2pdf with cups-pdf then it could be a config issue. They both use ghostscript for the ps->pdf conversion. I think kprinter does too but I'm not sure. |

How can one use kprint's PDF printer from a non-KDE app, say firefox or acroread or openoffice? |
