| and you don't want that... is that it? Probably you configured apache to handle php files like cgis. |

I'm configuring an Apache2 for the first time. From memory, I don't remember ever had to set *.php the execution bit on those files. So maybe Apache is handling the files like cgis, I have no clue. There's nothing in the .conf about that (at least I don't think there is).
