The Shockwave plugin does nto directly exist for linux firefox

http://plugindoc.mozdev.org/faqs/firefox-linux.html#install-crossover

There is a crossover application but it aint free and Im not sure if there are any other alternatives

But that will be why the plugin finder wont find it

This is an old problem with an old solution. You need a 32 bit browser (like mozilla-firefox-bin) and then it can use the 32 bit flash plugin (netscape-flash). both packages have stable versions on AMD64.

Actually shockwave is not the same as flash, the plugins are different:
http://www.macromedia.com/shockwave/download/alternates/
Currently there is no Linux version, Is there a solution?

Do a search on the forum, and use your brain (I'd do the search myself but my brain is fried). Someone got a plugin working by just changing a line in an ebuild IIRC. Doesn't support all flash but supports some.

if it's flash you're looking for, see the "Cooking with AMD64" thread linked in my sig, as i did a post on Flash a while back there. for shockwave... to be honest, i never knew that was a separate plugin. someone above mentioned how do use that.

shockwave plugin (for content made with Macromedia Director) was more used few years ago, couse you were able to do some things not possible with flash. I think there is no need for that any more with new versions of flash.
The only site I know that's using it is www.yugop.com and as you see you probably cant see it :), but it's excellent to see in windows.
