Is there a way to show the contents of a folder (such as the ~/Desktop folder) on the desktop, like it happens in KDE and Gnome, without using those two?
I'm currently using fluxbox, and the one thing I miss from KDE is being able to download a file to my Desktop folder, for example, and seeing it appear on the destkop root window. Or dragging a folder to the desktop and copying it there (not making a symbolic link to the folder, but making a copy).
I know the rox pinboard can manage desktop icons, but it doesn't provide the kind of interaction I'm looking for, and neither does idesk...I'm not even sure I'm explaining myself correctly.
Anyway, if anyone knows of a lightweight app that mimics the desktop folder functionality of the "heavy" IDEs, please tell me _________________ "Give a man a fire and he will be warm for a day. Set a man on fire and he will be warm for the rest of his life"
