afaik you cant use hdparm on /dev/sXX devices.
Ive got a SATA drive, whic runs over the SCSI drivers too, I never was able to run hdparm on it. hdparm can only be run on IDE drives, not SCSI ones.
Though I have found that my SATA is as fast as it can be, I used the old IDE-SATA driver once, optimized it with hdparm, and got the same results as with SCSI-SATA driver unoptimized |
