security updates through diff's ?

Sorry if this one is already answered somewhere...

I do have a fast internet connection (if I'm willing to walk half an hour to it...) and a dialup connection at home.

Since updates are always "big" (everything is big for dialup ...) I'm wondering whether gentoo updates are available as diff relative to a previous source package, or only as a complete new source package.
