I have recently come in need of more space and so since I am not using portage for my OSX laptop I wish to uninstall it. I haven`t found a use for portage on my apple. On my Gentoo router/firewall on the other hand it is quite useful.
So my question is if someone can point me to a good howto for uninstalling portage.
Thank you. _________________ Registered Linux User #375052

I'm pretty sure you just delete the content of the portage directory. Portage is not really a program so I don't think that you can uninstall it. Then if you want it back all you have to do is emerge sync. _________________ I think that the forums are the greatest thing about Gentoo, thanks to everyone that posts on them!
