hey,

1. may i know gentoo support hyperthreading? what i need to emerge or install before i can use it? coz when boot up, i just saw the bootloader show one processor only.

2. Can i gentoo install in SATA hd? if can, is it possible after i install gentoo in the sata hd, then i put in my previous IDE hd which had installed win XP together? if i got 3 hd, can i install my OS as below?

SATA : gentoo
IDE HD 1 : windows XP
IDE HD 2 : Fedora Core 2

which one i need to install first, and which one later?

3. why in win XP we need to install my Intel Motherboard driver, but in linux i no need to put in the Intel motherbard CD to install? is it will decrease my motherboard performance?

1. Yes it does, just enable it in your kernel when you get to that part. (multi-processor support as I recall)

2.Yes you can. First install windows xp on your id1, then take it out. Then install Fedocare core 2 (but don't worry about the bootloader). Then install Gentoo and that's when you need to do the hard task of getting your bootloader to boot all your hd's. :)

3.Because windows xp is what? 3 years old? And your live cd probably a month or so. Windows needs drivers, linux kernel has most of them allready.
No it shouldn't decrease your mobo's performance.

4.This is more of an Installation question don't you think?
