Hey...
I installed speedfreq and ACPI on my Fujitsu-Siemens Lifebook E4010 according to the Acer Travelmate Howto-Wiki.
Speedfreq works fine, but only as long as I have my USB-mouse connected. When I disconnect the mouse, the CPU runs constantly at 1600MHz.
I tracked the problem back to /proc/stat, where the kernel counts its idle-time. Speedfreq is reading it from there. Now if I disconnect the mouse, the kernel seems to count very slow. And this affects the way speedfreq adjusts the CPU.
Anybody understood what I mean...?
Anybody seeing the same beavior?
This behavior is odd, because usually I disconnect the mouse when I'm not connected to AC power. And that is the situation a power management would be useful...
Parameters:
- FSC Lifebook E4010 (Centrino, Pentium M 1600)
- Kernel 2.6.8-gentoo-r7
- Speedfreq 0.7.2
Ciao,
Ronald. |
