I am using gdm to have users login. Also using evilwm I want certain apps to start immideatly after they login. But i also want the apps to start as thier user not as root. Currently I can use PostLogin directory scripts to run processes as root but is there any way to have whatever user is logged in start the process? |

If you use the "custom" session in gdm, it will try to execute the .xsession script in your home folder. So you can put programs there that will get autostarted then as a user. Like having something like
Quote: | xmms &
xcompmgr -c &
exec myfavoritewm |
will start xmms and composites everytime you log in through gdm. _________________ Gnome:
