i just tested it. but i get this msg:
Please check that:
Your soundcard i configured properly "yes it is, the sound works with mpg123"
You have the correct output plugin selected "yes i just change it to arts"
No other program is blocking the soundcard "checked"
hum i never had to emerge ARTS before...
weird, is it something in kernel maybee.. anyone who also have a G3 with a working xmms ? what do you have in "output plugin" ? _________________ ibook 12" G3 800mhz 30gb 384ram |

DMASOUND_PMAC is the OSS driver, please make sure that you have oss in your use flags. You should not need the aRts plugin unless you are using aRts. |

# These settings were set by the catalyst build script that automatically built this stage
# Please consult /etc/make.conf.example for a more detailed example
CFLAGS="-O3 -mcpu=750 -pipe"
CHOST="powerpc-unknown-linux-gnu"
CXXFLAGS="${CFLAGS}"
you mean that i should add something here ? or kernel ?
kernel:
<M> Sound card support
<M> PowerMac DMA sound support
Advanced Linux Sound Architecture --->
Open Sound System --->
i got dmasound_pmac in autoload.d/kernel-2.6
thanks! =) _________________ ibook 12" G3 800mhz 30gb 384ram |

Try emerging ufed, it's a program that lets you easily edit your useflags. Also, take a look at /etc/make.conf.example for a better idea of what the options available are in make.conf. |
