|

I'm rebuilding my primary gentoo system from scratch.
I've reached the point of installing alsa.
The 'emerge alsa-driver' has gone fine.
I've changed the proper config file settings and have run
'/etc/modules.d/alsasound start' with no reported problems.
I tried 'emerge alsa-utils' and received the following error:
Code: |

Updating my system I tried to emerge alsa-lib 0.9.0-r6 +, which gives same error as dufeu's... I tried emerging 0.9.0-r5 as well, didn't work either.
Help appreciated. |

OK, played around a bit more: rc3 works. So quick and dirty version is use r3... (If you do an update remove before the "emerge -u world" the ebuilds for alsa-lib and alsa-utils >rc3 in /usr/portage/media-libs/alsa-lib and /usr/portage/media-sound/alsa-util)
This is not an elegant fix, but works...

I'll see what other replies there are until Monday AM EST. If there is nothing better than your (perreira) work-around, then I'll post it in bugzilla.
I couldn't find anything related in the forums nor in bugzilla when I looked.
