I started using qingy as a "login manager".

When I used other login managers, like kdm, I would make sure I had a "-nolisten tcp" after the command to start X in the Xservers file.

I don't think qingy uses the Xservers file, and it appears that the X server is listening on port 6001 when I netstat -pl. (why 6001 vs 6000 I don't know)

I made sure I had the nolisten argument in the xservers file for xdm and kdm. In my user bash profile I added an alias for startx to startx -nolisten tcp.

X does not listen on tcp when starting from xdm, kdm or command line startx.

Anyone know what method qingy uses to start X, and how I would make it so that it will not listen on tcp?

Well, wait for the next version of qingy, as it will have support for passing args to the X server... current version doesn't have this capability.
