cd writer buffer underruns

hi,

I have a abit th7II mobo with the nforce2 chipset (a pain in the ass when you run linux). untill recently everything worked fine but since i'm using the gentoo dev sources 2.6.8 i'm having troubles with my cd-writer , when I burn with k3b at 48x the burnproof is used a lot , the load goes to 10 and my computer is verry slow. I checked the dma and it was on so I don't have any clue what might be the problem.

the writer did work well with a 2.6.4 vanilla kernel and now I run 2.6.8-gentoo-r7.
I had the same troubs with win2k some months ago.
