hi,

Can someone please come up with a solution for the following problem:

I want to alter some keys. It must not be xmodmap but that's afaik the only solution which will work in every wm. At the moment I'm happy using KDE 3.3.0

my .xmodmap looks like

! Make to additional key known to X
keycode 234 = XF86Launch0
keycode 233 = XF86Launch1

This is not the problem. The problem surfaces in combination with the KDE Language Tool. Most of the time I work with an american keyboard layout. But sometimes I need to switch to the german keboard layout. And here it happens that clicking the laguage icon in the taskbar changes the layout but additionaly clears the settings from my .xmodmap

suggestions?
