In part because I'm not very used to Gentoo's inner workings, I'm having a problem.
I've installed Hylafax vie emerge, and my hfaxd daemon appears to be working and it launches at boot time. However, testing via telnet from another machine yields
Code: |
[jeff@juanita central]$ telnet 192.168.0.76 4559
Trying 192.168.0.76...
Connected to 192.168.0.76 (192.168.0.76).

I'm pretty sure I have Hylafax' host file set up problerly. Rather, I think my problem has to do with hfaxd not starting up under the correct username.
My question, then, is: where is hfaxd getting launched at boot, and what controls under what username it's being launched? i want it to run with the username "fax" but it's running under the username "uucp", which I think must be unintentional (UIDs happen to match?)
Thanks! |
