stuff locks up, mouse locks up everything messes up when im runnin maybe 3-5 programs...
anything i could check on to make sure i've done it right?

i've got to figure out also whats the deal with my line 7 error in the fstab...

im a totaal newbie, any help would be great :)

Well, I'd say you can always start by looking at your logs:

/var/log/messages
/var/log/Xorg.0.log

and seeing whether there's anything wrong with the messages at the moment the computer freezes.

To check those logs, use the editor of your choice. You should have used nano a few times during the install process, so use that until you try out the others. Also, I'd run memtest86 off of the livecd and see if there are any problems with your ram. Hard locks like that normally indicate a hardware problem.
