Gentoo on Strato Server

Hello!
I want to install Gentoo on my Strato dedicated server because I hate
the current installation with visas. To reduce the servers downtime I would
like ti install Gentoo while the Suse system is running. To do that i have to decrease the size of the "suse partitions". Is this possible while running the system?

THX for your reply! I've seen this thread an will use it.
My only Problem is that I have first to reduce the size of the suse root partition.
Does anyone know if the recovery-linux which is installed on the strato servers does contain programs like resize2fs ?
