New install on Compaq nx7000 Laptop with Intel Pro 2100 Wireless Mini
Boot from LiveCD - selected 'gentoo Kernel'
loading...
Then this is what I get:
missing kernel or user mode driver ipw2100
... can't load module ipw2100"
*Starting usb hotplugging... ok
*Network device eth0 detected, DHCP broadcasting for IP..."
blah, blah, blah (soundcard, video card, etc,.
Welcome to Gentoo Linux, blah, blah, blah
livecd root #
What now? ow do I get my Intel Pro Wireless 2100 to work.? _________________ Please be gentle - I'm a Linux Virgin |

Can you use your normal ethernet card for the install as this would certainly simplify the process?
If you can use your standard ethernet card to get the system installed you could then go on to install the necessary driver that is now available in portage:
