Okay I have a heterogeanous network going on here.
freeBSD server running proFTP and Samba 2.2.6pre2
Gentoo 1.4rc7 running Samba 2.2.5
PowerBook G4 OS X (ver.10.2.2) with windows file sharing, and personal file sharing
I have started backing up a lot of apps and CD's blah blah blah...
After getting things stored on the main server from my Gentoo box, I then go to retrieve to my powerbook a few files are un-usable. Originally i marked it up to bad copy. Then at work someone stated they downloaded a large file which did not work as well. But I knew it worked for me. Something made me use ftp and the file needed was now usable. Has anyone came across a similar problem. I am searching around but my searches may be to ambigous.
Something is happing to the file when using samba or shall i say being read. I'll be back on this one. J _________________ ___________________________________

Well after reinacting a few times I ve realized the problem came once windows took the file and then brought back. But the only real problem was when my PowerBook got it last. And only then. So hence it might the way windows offers the file share towards the MAC side. I wonder now if this falls true with OS 9.x
well back to more swapping...... _________________ ___________________________________
