|
|
I just finished emerge system, and it's telling me this message:
Code: |
!!! j2sdk-1_4_1-doc.zip not found in /usr/portage/distfiles.
!!! dev-java/java-sdk-docs-1.4.1 has fetch restriction turned on.
!!! This probably means that this ebuild's files must be downloaded
!!! manually. See the comments in the ebuild for more information.
* Please download j2sdk-1_4_1-doc.zip from http://java.sun.com/products/archive/j2se/1.4.1_07/index.html and mov it to /usr/portage/distfiles

Well, that sounds easy enough, but when I try to use lynx, links, or links2 I find that I don't have the binary anymore. Oh, and even if I could download/burn to another computer, I no longer have the mount command.
Any ideas?

If its during an install in order to use link2 you need to be out of the chroot environment, if you changed the root password when you first booted up the livecd, press alt F2 to open another vt and login there, then use links and when you copy it, copy it to /mnt/gentoo/usr/portage/distfiles _________________ Gentoo Powered:Reiser4|2.6 bootstrapped|NPTL|UDEV|2.6.11-nitro2+gnome

I have the exact same problem, but I didn't reset my root password before I went into the chroot environment. Is there anyway to change the root password or determine the current root password in a chroot environmnet?
If not, then what other solutions are there? Maybe I could change where emerge is downloading the files from? Would that work? |

I've just now done this myself.
All I did is dropped out of the chroot environment (type 'exit' at the prompt) and used links to download and save the file to /mnt/gentoo/usr/portage/distfiles.
Once that finished I went back into chroot:
# chroot /mnt/gentoo /bin/bash
# env-update
# source /etc/profile
and then back to work with:
# emerge system
which seems to be working just fine.
