Hey there,
I'm pretty new with Gentoo and have a problem with my dvd device. It is a CDRW/DVD-Combo device. I installed Xine, but when I want to launch a dvd I get the following error:
Quote: | There is no input plugin available to handle 'dvd:/'
Maybe MRL syntax is wrong or file/stream source doesn't exist. |
Quote: | The source can't be read.
Maybe you don't have enough rights for this, or source doesn't contain date (e.g.: not disc in drive).(/dev/dvd). |
I also tried it as root, with the same message. The DVD is insertet...
Here's some config files i edited. Before i emerged xine i had the following lines in /etc/devfsd.conf uncommented:
Quote: | LOOKUP ^dvd$ CFUNCTION GLOBAL mksymlink ${ mntpath}/cdroms/cdrom1 dvd
REGISTER ^cdroms/cdrom1$ CFUNCTION GLOBAL mksymlink ${devpath} dvd
UNREGISTER ^cdroms/cdrom1$ CFUNCTION GLOBAL unlink dvd |
In my fstab i have the following entry:
Quote: | /dev/cdroms/cdrom1 /mnt/dvd auto noauto,user,exec,ro 0 0
I don't know what to do to get this device work. Do i have to aktivate some option in the kernel? I got the 2.6.8.1
Hope someone can help me. Thanks.
