i installed my wireless network card with this: https://forums.gentoo.org/viewtopic.php?t=202476&highlight=acx100 howto and it worked (used option 6a). the only strange thing i saw that it said that smp is still turned on (but i have deselected it in the kernel and also uname say's: #3 smp)
but my error is:
Code:
error for wireless request "Set frequency" (8B04): invalid argument "BAR"

and this is what i typed:
Code:
iwconfig wlan0 essid FOO channel BAR mode managed key s:my_network_key rate 22M

here is the output of dmesg:
Code:

Foo and Bar were examples given in the setup.

Do a iwlist scan ( i think, might need to check spelling )

That should give you available access points. ( careful to rename your
access point when you have to access to it if it is yours )

Normally by default if you use a netgear access point, you should have :
essid = NETGEAR and channel = 11 by default.

*slaps Chaosite for confusing us newbies :)*

in your case, essid is : netwerk thuis ( blank separator might be a
problem, not sure, try essid "netwerk thuis" )

I have a problem when trying to change my mac address,
i use
insmod acx_pci.ko
ifconfig hw ether wlan0 xx:xx:xx:xx:xx
iwconfig [settings]
ifconfig wlan0 up

then when i type ifconfig wlan0, i see the spoofed mac.
But when i try to access the network nothing happen, i cant
even ping my gateway.

I have open /proc/driver/acx*
and notice that there is file that contain my original mac address,
i think that this value must be changed after ifconfig hw ether ....

Can anyone give me some help about this problem?

Thank you.
