I have a gnome installation. I emerge firefox Firefox places shortcuts into the Internet menu group, however these never actually show up until after I logout and log back in. This is quite a nuisance.
Does anyone else have this issue? Is this a non-issue (Do you have to restart Windows to see the icons when you install a program?) Or is there a way to get the menu to refresh itself?
Thanks. |

You need to do these as root:
Quote: |
emerge fam
rc-update add famd default
|
Fam is the monitor that looks for updates on filesystem and notifies gnome...
There is also a lighter and newer "gamin" but I can't say i had experience with it. |
